peace will come to the world when the people have enough to eat

Regular readers will know of my love of Nissin noodles. So it is with a heavy heart that I must announce that the founder of my beloved Nissin noodle, OSAKA (Kyodo) Momofuku Ando, has died aged 96.

He invented the instant noodle after seeing a line of solders (during World War 2) waiting to buy some black market ramen. It was the realisation that "peace will come to the world when the people have enough to eat" according to Nissin Food Products Co.

ANDO, may your noodle never be short.
Your broth always hot.
and your stomach never empty.
Long live your instant noodle.
